Le Gros family in Canada

This page contains portraits of members of the Le Gros family and their relatives. Jean Le Gros (1839-1905) emigrated to Quebec in the 1860s. It appears that he took two family albums with him, containing many photographs taken in Jersey, and then added more in Canada. The albums are now in the possession of his descendant Will Le Gros, who is hoping that more of the portraits can be identified by sending them to us at Jerripedia. We have already been able to find much more detail about some of those whose photographs are in the albums, and hope to make further progress with the help of Jerripedia users

Some of the photographs are contained in an album sold by F and A Rowe, booksellers and stationers of Queen Street, Jersey. Florence Rowe, the founders' daughter, married Jesse Boot, founder of the chain of chemists, later Lord Trent

Thomas Le Gros (1871-1952) and Charlotte 'Holly' Harbour (1872-1965), who married in Gaspe in 1897

The following pictures are contained in the second Le Gros album and are unfortunately not named, although those we have chosen were taken by a variety of Jersey photographers
