Note: there is a dispute among Medieval genealogists over whether Otto and William de Grandison were the sons of Amadeus de Grandison or his brothers. Chronologically it seems very unlikely that the latter was true, but as always, dates of birth and death in the 13th century can be very inaccurate.
The line of descent from Guillaume de Montagu, Warden of the Isles from 1334-1337, to the Pauletts, who were Governors and Bailiffs in the 16th Century, and thence to the de Carteret family, is shown in the next tree.
